Dr. Novak grew up in the suburbs of Chicago before receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. After vet school, she moved to North Carolina to complete a small animal rotating internship with medicine emphasis and small animal internal medicine residency at North Carolina State University.

Dr. Novak’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disease, kidney disease, and immune-mediated disease, as well as the use of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to improve patient outcomes.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Novak enjoys reading, playing pickleball, and watching movies. She currently shares her home with her black cat Wednesday, though she has a particular soft spot for big slobbery dogs.
