This course will help you to prepare pet owners for potential surgical procedures and manage cases post-operatively.
Top 3 Pelvic Limb Orthopedic Surgeries for the General Practitioner
Dr. Kalis will share radiographic and intra-operative images demonstrating proper techniques for routine patella luxation corrective osteotomies, FHNO, and extracapsular lateral suture stifle stabilization procedures. Learn about simple and accurate techniques for the most predictive and successful clinical outcomes.
GDV and Gastropexy
Dr. Kalis will review the treatment and prevention of gastric dilatation and volvulus while focusing on preventative gastropexy techniques. Minimally invasive techniques will also be discussed, including laparoscopic-assisted and total laparoscopic gastropexy techniques.
Emergency & Critical Care
Respiratory Emergencies
Amaris Franco DVM, DACVECC | Critical Care
Dr. Franco will review respiratory emergencies, focusing on the lower airways. The lecture will discuss common causes, diagnostic modalities, management tips, new treatment options, and conclude with case examples.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Amaris Franco DVM, DACVECC | Critical Care
Dr. Franco will lecture on cardiopulmonary resuscitation based on RECOVER initiative guidelines. The lecture will cover basic and advanced life support.
Triage and CPR
Milla Stasko, LVT
This lecture is intended to provide tips for patient personnel on the triage process, guidance on critical thinking skills, and review the guidelines of current veterinary CPR practices.
IV Fluid Therapy in Hospitalized Patients
Milla Stasko, LVT
