Dr. Lauren Smith-Oskrochi is a board-certified veterinary radiation oncologist with specialized expertise in advanced, image-guided radiation therapy and quality-of-life centered cancer care. She joins AVES after serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, where she mentored oncology residents, interns, and veterinary students while advancing clinical research on innovative radiation therapy applications for both neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases.

Dr. Smith-Oskrochi completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has since built a career focused on highly precise treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate communication with families and referring veterinarians. Her clinical interests include low dose radiation therapy for non-neoplastic diseases, pre-operative radiation and multi-modal therapy, and the development of novel immobilization devices to further improve accuracy and patient comfort. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has served as a primary research mentor for numerous oncology residents.

At AVES, Dr. Smith-Oskrochi is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based radiation therapy with an emphasis on minimizing side effects and supporting each patient’s comfort throughout treatment. She values clear, collaborative communication with primary care veterinarians and strives to make radiation therapy accessible, reassuring, and tailored to the goals of every family.
